The Phoenix Fund

This year, my family and friends asked me what I was doing for my Golden Birthday, and like many budding social entrepreneurs before me, I decided to forgo gifts and instead, raise money for a cause that has pulled at me for as long as I can remember. I am starting a higher education scholarship fund for women through an organization that is seriously changing the playing field for girls in the developing world, Edge of Seven. What started as a 25 day campaign to raise 2500.00 by my 25th birthday is now in a process of transformation. It's on its way to becoming a fund for girls that will outlast my birthday, leap year, medical school and accompany me during my growth into a physician and beyond.
